Intelligent Mud Solutions (IMS) and Newpark Drilling Fluids have been selected to co-present at the Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP) – Saudi Aramco Upstream Technology Workshop 2026, taking place 28–29 January 2026 at Dhahran Techno Valley Centre (DTVC), Saudi Arabia.
The joint presentation is a direct result of the cooperation agreement signed between IMS and Newpark in September 2025, establishing a framework for integrating autonomous drilling fluid analysis technology with global drilling fluid service delivery.
In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this cooperation is supported by GOTECH as a local partner, providing in-country presence, operational support, and localisation aligned with Saudi market requirements and Saudi Aramco expectations.

IMS and Newpark will jointly present:
Real-time Fluid Intelligence to Strengthen Well Integrity, Improve Efficiency, and Reduce Operational Risk
The presentation demonstrates how real-time fluid intelligence, based on continuous and autonomous drilling fluid measurements, provides a stronger technical foundation for well integrity management and drilling decision-making.
Rather than relying on periodic and manual fluid checks, the approach enables continuous, objective, and high-frequency visibility into drilling fluid behaviour. This allows earlier identification of abnormal trends, improved consistency in fluid management, and reduced uncertainty during critical drilling phases.
By integrating real-time fluid intelligence into drilling workflows, operators can strengthen well integrity barriers, improve operational efficiency, and reduce overall operational risk across the drilling lifecycle.

Real-time fluid intelligence for drilling operations
The presentation highlights how autonomous drilling fluid analysis and real-time mud monitoring deliver continuous insight into drilling fluid behaviour under dynamic drilling conditions.
Key technical themes include:
Continuous measurement of drilling fluid rheology, density, temperature, and pressure
Limitations and uncertainty associated with manual and intermittent mud testing
Early identification of fluid-related deviations impacting well integrity and drilling performance
Integration of real-time drilling fluid data into digital drilling and well integrity workflows

Integrated technology, services, and local presence in KSA
The joint IMS–Newpark presentation illustrates how real-time fluid intelligence can be embedded within drilling fluid service delivery, enabling:
Stronger well integrity through earlier detection of abnormal trends
Improved operational efficiency through consistent and objective data
Reduced operational risk by lowering reliance on manual sampling routines
Scalable deployment across onshore and offshore drilling operations
Through GOTECH as local partner, IMS and Newpark ensure:
Established local presence in Saudi Arabia
Support for deployment, operations, and field activities
Alignment with Saudi Aramco localisation and in-country value requirements
NORWEP–Saudi Aramco technical workshop and B2B
The NORWEP–Saudi Aramco Upstream Technology Workshop combines technical presentations with structured B2B sessions, enabling direct engagement with Saudi Aramco technical departments and EXPEC Advanced Research Centre.
For IMS and Newpark, the workshop provides an opportunity to discuss qualification pathways, pilot projects, and broader deployment of real-time fluid intelligence solutions within Saudi Aramco operations.
