Modbus Integration - Short-Term Project

At Intelligent Mud Solutions (IMS), we continue to push the frontier of real-time drilling fluid intelligence. As part of an internal development program, we are refining how field instruments, PLCs, and analytical software communicate through Modbus TCP — a step in ensuring data accuracy and synchronization across all our real-time measurement systems.

This initiative focuses on improving the handshake between measurement devices and our analytical platform, ensuring consistent transfer of parameters for real-time calculations.

To complete this stage of development, IMS is now seeking an automation professional to support our engineering team on a part-time, project-specific basis.

We are looking for individuals with extensive experience in:

• Siemens TIA Portal / S7 PLC systems

• Modbus TCP/RTU configuration and diagnostics

• Data mapping, byte/word order management, and floating-point validation

• Integration between PLCs, simulators, and analytical software environments

This is a temporary assignment supporting our R&D team in Stavanger, focusing on validation, optimisation, and documentation of Modbus communication between external field devices and IMS analytical systems.
